Mutable Bodies
(2025)
Mixed Media Collage -
Repurposed artwork, metal chain, found objects and three dimensional materials.
This installation serves as an exploration of the fluid and ever changing nature of the human form and identity. By revisiting and deconstructing elements from my previous work, including the Face series and Bringing bubbles back, I established a visual dialogue between different stages of my artistic journey. This process of fragmentation and reassembly allowed me to examine how the body is perceived when removed from a traditional or singular context. The composition is physically unified through the use of unconventional connectors such as metal chains, paper clips and string, which act as literal and symbolic tethers between old and new ideas. I incorporated various found objects, including a miniature duck and fish, to add a playful yet surreal three dimensional dimension to the work. The expansive arrangement across the wall suggests a sense of growth and movement, reflecting the way our experiences and memories are interconnected. The final piece celebrates the concept of the body as a mutable entity, inviting the viewer to consider identity as a collection of shifting layers rather than a fixed state.
